MIHOW requires an annual site licensing fee that includes affiliation and use of MIHOW logos, initial training of outreach workers, quarterly regional training meetings, evaluation of data, ongoing technical assistance, and subsidized attendance for the MIHOW conference.
The site licensing fee is generally 5% of an organization's MIHOW budget. We work with each organization on an individual basis and use the 5% as a guideline.
The curriculum consists of an Administrator's Manual, The MIHOW Way, and 4 Home Visit Guides--Prenatal, Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3. The cost of the Administrator's Manual is $150 and a full set of Home Visit Guides costs $400. Sites usually purchase one administrator's manual and a set of home visit guides for the office and for each home visitor, though some sites purchase only a couple of sets for the office and have home visitors do all planning at the office. Handouts for participants are included in each home visit guide.
